Our Expensive Last Couple of Weeks.

Ahhhh how to even start this post. It all started one evening while I was making dinner I was cooking something on the stove and all of a sudden the LED display flashed and then went out. No amount of button pushing or button slamming or begging or crying I couldn't make it come back on. Which is a problem because you can't turn on the oven at all with out that display. So we went out and bought a new stove. Yeah we could have called and had it looked at and fixed but when we bought our house we didn't spend the extra money to upgrade the stove because we figured we would do it later. Well it is apparently later. We only spent what we had and didn't get the one with all the bells and whistles but I did get one that had some of the things I wanted. I was happy. End of story right? Oh no! Well a couple of weeks ago my washing machine stops spinning! Our washer is only a year old!!! But that of course is past the warranty time. And we also discover that it is over filling and leaking large amounts of water all over the floor. You can see the water damage on the moldings.So back out shopping we went. Since it is Tax refund time Troy thought that we should just get a nice washer that we know won't break down and that will save us money on the utilities. And so dun duh duh dun. . . . . The new washer and dryer!!! Yay!!!!! I love it it is so quiet and fast too!!! I can't wait to do tons and tons of laundry (never thought I would say that!, I am sure it will wear off quickly though!)

This is how I found Owen and our dog Molly asleep one night. I had to try really really hard not to laugh and wake them both up. As you can see Molly is laying on top of a pillow on top of Owen. I have no idea how they ended up this way only that it was super funny when they did.

Valentines Day

For Valentines day Troy and I started a tradition a few years ago, because we didn't have and couldn't afford a babysitter, that we would stay home and make dinner together. We usually have steak and it is always good!!

We just enjoy having a dinner at home, just the two of us, after the kids go to bed and we don't have to battle the traffic or the crowds.Here is a picture of the table. I took it before I put the steaks on the plates. Who wants to eat cold steak!This is a picture of the rose my mom gave me for Valentines day. Isn't it gorgeous!

Here is a close up of it! I love love love roses!I just want to say how grateful I am for my sweetheart. He is the greatest love I have ever known, and I thank my Heavenly Father that I get to have him for eternity.

List of Things I Never Thought I Would Do, or See, AKA My Trip to New York City.

As all of you know I am just a girl born and raised right here in good old Utah. I have been all across the country and have seen all the sights that you can see. . . . that are touristy that is. When I was 16 years old I went on a trip with my family back east and we went and saw the statue of liberty but we didn't come even close to the city because my parents were not about to take their family into what at the time wasn't a very safe city. I have always wanted to go and see New York City. I love Broadway music and have always wanted to see a musical on Broadway. Specifically Wicked! So when Troy told me he was headed to New Jersey to visit a client and asked if I wanted to go I of course jumped at the chance!!

You have to know that because I was in New York I had to have a very unique experience so I am going to give you my list of the things that I never thought I would do or see that I did do and see in good old New York City

1. See Times Square.

as you can see the lights at times square are so bright it looks like it is in the middle of the day. It was amazing.

2. Sit and eat in a place that has a TV the size of my house.

We ate dessert at the ESPN Zone at times square and you know guys they have to watch the game on the biggest TV they can find. You can see it behind Troy. We are on the second floor and it goes from the first floor up to the top of the second floor.

3. See Radio City Music Hall4. See where they shoot 30 Rock.

Troy was very excited about this one. He loves that show.

5. See Studio 1A where they shoot the Today Show.

6. See Rockefeller Center and the Ice Rink.

7. See the Library From the Movie Ghostbusters!

The kids loved this picture. They thought it was awesome that the building actually existed.

8. See the Empire State Building.

We couldn't afford to go to the top but it was still amazing to see.

9. Eat Dinner in the Empire State Building.

Oh it was sooo yummy!!!

10. Sleep in a Hotel That Was Built on a Cemetery!

Oh this was disturbing. I had to take a picture so that everyone would believe me!

11. Go to Cocktail Hour.

Being that I don't drink I didn't think I would ever be in a situation where this would have been necessary but the clients we were with went before dinner. I got a lot of flack for my (virgin) frozen raspberry lemonade, but oh was it good!

12. Go to a Business Dinner.

Housewives don't usually do business dinners. But it was pretty fun! We had dinner with some really fun and interesting people.

13. See a Hooker and her Pimp.

Enough said!

14. Take the Subway.

Not as bad as I thought it would be but there are some pretty. . . interesting people that ride the subway in New York.

15. Eat what turned out to be real authentic Chinese food.

As it turns out I don't like authentic Chinese food. The second picture here is of my dinner. It was disgusting!

16. Ride in a New York City Taxi.
I knew this one was going to be scary so I just shut my eyes and enjoyed the fact that I wasn't walking the 25 blocks back to the train station in my going to see a Broadway Musical shoes. (oh these ones are super high and super cute!)
17. See Wicked on Broadway!

So So So great! I loved every minute of it!! I had a smile on my face the entire night. Best Business Trip Yet!
