Thankful Project

Every year on facebook I see people saying what they are thankful for everyday in November.  I didn't like the idea of doing it on facebook so I made a list and posted to it everyday.  I thought I would post it here.

Thankful Project 2011
1.             I am thankful for my beautiful children who try my patients and yet bring me joy every single day
2.           I am thankful for my sweet husband who would go to the moon and back again if I asked, whether he wanted to or not.
3.           I am thankful for my home.  It’s not a castle or anything but it’s my castle!
4.           I am grateful for amazing friends!
5.           I am thankful for technology that keeps me connected with people that I would probably never be able to talk again without it.
6.           I am thankful for the priesthood and for priesthood blessing.
7.           I am grateful that I got to see Wyatt Blessed.  Sweetest blessing ever
8.           I am grateful for my savior and for his sacrifice for me.
9.           I am thankful for my parents.  I don’t know anyone who had a better childhood then me.  We didn’t have a lot but we had each other
10.         I am grateful for my brother and sisters.  We still love hanging out together.  There aren’t a lot of siblings who can say that.
11.          I am grateful to be able to see.  I am grateful for the technology to make it so I can see!
12.         I am grateful for the veterans like Grandpa Owens that fight and have fought for me and my country.  There are no greater heroes then those brave men and women.
13.         I am grateful for an amazing ward and neighborhood.  I am so grateful that we were lead by the spirit to live here
14.         I am grateful for the opportunity I have had to be a mother.  I have always known it was what I wanted to be, and I love it!
15.         I am grateful for music.  For the ability it has to change my mood instantly.  I love to dance around my living room with my kids and act silly with music in the background.
16.         I am grateful I have for the ability I have to sing.  It is one of my favorite things to do.  Sometimes I wish I could do it more but that would mean having to do in front of people so I guess I will just have to keep it to myself.
17.         I am grateful for my washing machine so that I don’t have to go to the river to wash all the clothes we wear!  You never think about how amazingly easy we have it compared to those who came before us.
18.         I am grateful for eternal marriage.  I am grateful that I know I can be with my sweetheart and my family forever.
19.         I am grateful for (I know this will look bad but. . . ) the TV, Movies, and video games, and bored games.  I know too much is a bad thing but it is fun entertainment and it even can bring us all together to do something fun.
20.         I am grateful for the opportunity to sit with my whole family around the dinner table when Troy is in town.  I love to listen to the kids talk about their day and what they think is funny.  I will miss that the most when they all decide to move away.
21.         I am grateful for the opportunity my kids have to get to know their grandparents I only knew mine until I was 7 and my other grandparents lived across the country and died when I was 16 so I never really knew them at all.  I love to watch them get spoiled by their grandparents.
22.         I am grateful for my dishwasher.  I hate washing dishes so having something that will do it for me is an amazing thing!
23.         I am grateful for Troy’s company.  He has loved working for them and for the most part they are a great company to work for.
24.         I am grateful for food and for the fact that I get to try new things and learn I love things I never thought I would.
25.         I am thankful for freedom.  I don’t know if I could live without it.
26.         I am thankful for children’s laughter.  There is nothing in the world that is better.
27.          I am thankful for the kindness of others.  There were times in my life where I relied very heavily on the kindness of others.  I would be in a very different place without it.
28.         I am thankful for the scriptures.  I know that they are the word of God.
29.         I am thankful for the prophet.  I know that he speaks the things that my father in heaven wants me to hear.
30.         I am thankful, getting down to the heart of it, family, friends, food and a warm safe bed.

Happy Birthday Morgan

For Morgan's birthday this year she decided that she wanted to go to Classic Skating with her friend Hannah, and our family friends (ok they are more like family this point) The Royers.  We had the best time!!!  And then we had a Justin Beiber themed birthday party with all our friends and family.
This is her cake.  Macey's  did a fabulous job!
I made purple chocolate heart sucker.  Purple because it is Justin's favorite color and I am told the the heart is his thing.  (I don't know I just go with it)
 The decorations.

We brought Mikayla's room downstairs to decorate.  Most of the pictures belong to her.  Morgan also brought her pictures out for all to see.

 All the girls
 Blowing out the candles.
I am so grateful that I have Morgan as my daughter.  She is full of laughter and happiness.  she gives the best hugs.  And makes me laugh!

I love you Morgan!  I hope you had a very happy birthday!!

Halloween

This year for Halloween we changed it up a little bit.  We normally head up to Troy's mom's house and spend Halloween with family.  This year Morgan wanted to go trick or treating with her best friend Hannah because they were twin Zombies and it loses its effect if the twins aren't together.  So we stayed home and trick or treated around our neighborhood.  We really loved it!  It was nice to not have to leave by 4 to get to grandmas and then eat dinner all dressed up trying not to get food on the costume and then not get home until 10.  We ate at 6 and then home by 9.   Troy and I took the boys out and Morgan went with Hannah and Mikayla went with a group of her friends.  The amount of candy they got is insane!  Here are the kids all dressed up for school.  I missed Mikayla before she left so I took her picture when I ran into her with her friends.
 Owen aka "Captain Jack Sparrow"

 Sam aka "Red Angry Bird"
Morgan aka "Zombie Girl"  I never got a picture of her and her twin.  Oh well.
Here is Morgan without her Jacket on.  Love the "Hi" I got.
 Mikayla aka "Spanish Dancer"

Here is Sam and his preschool teacher at their Halloween party.

The kids out trick or treating.

Pumpkin Carving

One of my favorite Halloween traditions we have is carving pumpkins!  We try to get together with the Famers to do this and some times it works and sometimes it doesn't.  This year. . . .  It worked!  We gathered at the Famer house this year and had yummy pizza and carved some of the best pumpkins we have ever done this year.

Here is Sam getting ready to carve his pumpkin.

 All of us working hard!
Samuel showing off his finshed pumpkin.  Its a mummy, I say it is super cool looking.
Morgan working on hers.  It was a party bat
Owen working on his.  It was a three headed dog. visa vie Harry Potter
 Boston working on his.
 Halen working on hers
 Troy helping carve the pumpkins
Jeni carving and Edda looking on.  He always is the last one to start and finish.
 Morgan's finished product
 Owen's finished product
 Edda finally working on his.
Our finished pumpkins.
If your wondering where Mikayla is she decided to take a babysitting job that night and make a little moola!  She carved hers before she left and made a super cool Hunger Games design.  I of course am a loser and forgot to take a picture of hers but it was really cool!

Who do you think you are. . . some kind of photographer?

I wish that I could afford to have amazing pictures taken by a few amazing photographers that I know but unfortunately this cannot be.  So I took my handy camera and took my kids out behind our house and I did my best.  So here are my attempts.

 This was my second choice.

This is the one I eventually picked to blow up and put in my living room

My Latest Projects

I have been sewing my little behind off as of late, but I have enjoyed every second of it!  I thought I would post a few pictures of my latest projects.

This is a purse I made for my friend Alyssa as a thank you gift.

This is an apron I made for my friend Sarah as a thank you gift.  I thought it turned out really cute.

This is another apron I made for my friend Sarah out of a men's dress shirt.  It is super fun!

This is an Angry Bird costume I helped my sister-in-law Kelli make for her son for Halloween this year
I love to sew and can't wait to do my next project what ever that might be.  :-]
