I will be so sad next year when he goes off to first grade. He is one of my best friends. Congratulations Owen!!! I love you!!!

My Bad Luck Rearing Its Ugly Head

Ok so here is the story about my bad luck. I took our dog Molly to get a bath and a haircut. After we had dropped her off Sam and I were heading to the car and we were crossing the parking lot when a car was headed in our direction so I decided to pick up the pace a little and Sam likes to run. So we started to run across the street. I will now insert here that I was wearing my super cute and yet super high wedge sandals. Somehow I tripped and twisted my ankle which twisted my foot which broke the bone on the far left side of my left foot. It turns out that it broke of a piece of the bone and I needed surgery. Here is a picture of what my foot looked like before the surgery, side view Top view And here is a picture of what my foot looks like now after the surgery. It is super swollen, and I am sure looks even worse now. I will post pictures as things progress. It looks like I will have the stitches in for a week and let this splint for another week and then a book I can walk on for 4 weeks after that so all in all a 6 week recovery. Troy says I should now only wear flat shoes. I ordered flat sandals for the summer but who knows what the fall with bring!

Mogan's Gymnastics Exhibition Meet

Morgan had her first exhibition meet with her gymnastics troop a couple of weeks ago but with all our drama I haven't posted about it.
I will start by saying how great she did. I was so impressed! I had a really hard time catching a picture of her because she was going so fast.
She showed off 4 of her talents.
The vault
The floor routine
The Bars
The Beam.I was so impressed when she did a round off, off the beam to end her routine and landed it perfectly!
This is her back bend when they were warming up. She just impresses me all over the placeHer award in hand and her ending "salute". She was amazing!!!

Pop goes Mikayla, or her arm!

This past weekend was a little bit insane for us. It started off with a bang or I guess a pop really. Mikayla and Troy were on the dreaded trampoline she jumped too high and landed wrong and broke her arm just under her shoulder. So because of the location of the break it is hard to cast it so she is in a sling, for now, that keeps her arm pretty much pinned to her body. We are going to see an orthopedic surgeon in a couple of weeks and we will know more then. She has been such a trooper. I have been so impressed with her, she hasn't complained, ok hasn't complained a lot. But without a cast and with walking and moving it still hurts her a lot but she just keeps going. She impresses me daily.

Here are some fun pictures of our get together with Troy's family this weekend too. More fun with my new camera!! Morgan and Sam Morgan tried and tried and tried to get all the way across these. Her hands had blisters when she finally made it. Mikayla sitting for a minute before we finally got her to come and play a little. Owen's smile. Do you love the ketchup from his hotdog that never got cleaned off his face! Sam loves the slides. I love his smile! Sam and Peyton rock climbing to the slides. My cute boys!

New Camera

Troy got me a new camera for mothers day, so I thought I would share a couple of the pictures I took with it just for fun. It isn't anything fancy shmancy, but it is awesome and miles ahead of my old camera and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!! This is the tree in our front yard after the sprinklers watered and then froze immediately. The new rose bush I just bought from costco. The $1000 dollar shoes at Nordstroms. My cute boys. I was struck by how blue their eyes look in this picture. (I love this camera!) My cute niece Ellie. She is sooo sweet and squishy!!

My Brave Morgan!

I apologize yet again for the lack of the pictures. But I did get a new camera for Mothers Day (thank you love!) so we are back in business. Just not for this post. :-] Back to Morgan. For Christmas Troy's fantastic Dad gave all of the kids tuition for any activity they wanted to do. Mikayla is starting swimming in June, she wants to compete someday. Owen has decided he wants to play golf and also starts in June. Morgan as you have seen from older posts is our gymnast. She has been training herself here at home and with this gift we were able to get her involved in a real program.
She had her first class last Friday and can I just say. . . She kicked butt!!! I was so proud of her. These teachers don't kid around. They started the girls off with push ups and sit ups and wall sits. Chin ups and jumps. They worked them hard. They then worked on their routines that are for their up coming exhibition meet. She had the bar routine memorized and perfected in 2 tries. She also got the beam and floor routine and was caught up with the rest of the girls. They were so impressed. She did have one hiccup though. She climbed the rope on her first try (great right!!! I have never ever done that!) But she didn't know how to get back down. So she slid down the rope. A BIG no no apparently. And had to do push ups as a punishment. She did 50 push ups. I sat there watching and was so impressed that after the crazy hard work out she had just been through and crying through each one she did 50 push ups and what is even better she wants to go back! She is my hero. I am so proud of her. I can't wait to see what she will do next!!!! Love you Morgie. Way to go!
