Lake Powell

This year we had the opportunity to go to Lake Powell with Grandpa Beardall.  The boys had never been before so they were super excited!   We had a blast!  (except the night that Morgan and I got food poisoning, but that's a different story)   We can't wait to go again!

Here are the kids getting ready for some fun!
Samuel and Grandpa.  Grandpa let all the kids drive the boat.  They felt so grown up!

The first day Owen was super brave, he tried to knee board and got stuck in the strap and thought he was going to drown so he wouldn't do it again.  He also tried to ski but fell the second try and didn't want to do that again.  BUT,  when they pulled out the tube he found his courage again.
He was super excited to go in and out of the wake and then when we were going straight he decided that he was brave enough to try to stand.  (I think he wanted to watch his mom freak out from the boat)

Mikayla and Morgan also found their brave bone and went on the tubes.  Sam was super dissappointed when they were too chicken to go out side of the wake.  He wanted some bouncing and flying around.  (And this is why mom put him on the tubes with his chicken sisters  ;-] )
Morgan and Grandpa ready for some fun
 The beautiful scenery
All of us swimming around like fishes.  That was the girls favorite part.
Me, Sam, Morgan, Kelli and Peyton.  We sat up front on the way to Last Chance.  It was a bumpy ride but we loved it!
This is our version of "cliff jumping"

As you can see it wasn't very high up.  My kids come by their "chicken-ness" rightly.
By day 2 they had all become comfortable enough to finally try something behind the boat!  Morgan actually started the trend by being the first Baxter kid to volunteer to knee board and she was awesome!  She even pulled her self up on the board!
Owen then said "well if she can do it so can I"  and he did!
Not to be showed up by her younger siblings Mikayla had a go and did great too!!!
Morgan got so comfortable she even picked up the rope and everything.
Even though we got sunburned and got a little sick it was the funnest thing so far this summer!  Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Beardall for talking us!  Thanks to the Beardall and Porath families for helping it to be a blast!

A Catch You Up Post

Well life has been a little crazy for me as of late, (also I may have checked out of life and not cared about much, it really could be either ;-]) So I have been a horrible blogger.  I thought I should see if I could do  quick (and long, oh that's right I can do that) post and catch you up on the highlights of my life since February.
Ok for starters we had Easter.  ( not a lot of pictures because I took mostly video and I again wasn't as into it as I should have been)
Mikayla was in the spring play.  She did great!! She worked really hard and her dancing and singing was awesome!!
We also attended Mikayla's spring concert and watched her wrap up the 8th grade very nicely.

Samuel graduated from Preschool.   He loved Doodlebug preschool and Miss Sarah was AMAZING!!!!  I am so grateful that Sam was able to learn so much there! He made 3 great friends!!  These guys were 3 pees in a pod!
We got meet Sam's girlfriend!  That's right he is already getting the girls!  She is such a cutie!

Mikayla and I recorded a song together.  It really was the chance of a lifetime and I am supremely grateful for the opportunity.  There is talk of one day releasing it on itunes.  But I have a copy of it and that is enough for me.  I have a copy of my dad singing a song and it has become one of my most prized possessions.  I am grateful I can give the same thing for my kids.
I put purple in my hair.  I loved it!!!!  Troy, not so much, so I took it out but it was sure fun while it lasted!
We watched Mikaly do her first solo at school.  She sang an original song and impressed us beyond words!!  She is going places people I promise you that!!

And last but certainly not least we had a very short but fun girls weekend.  Those are always fun!!!  This year we had this cute guy along!!!

Well that sums up the last few months.  I am still in a little bit of a funk but I promise I am trying.  Thanks for sticking with me everybody!
